David Wolrige commenced Summit Partners after a successful 25 year career in financial accounting, specialising in business development. The foundation for Summit's steady growth over the past 5 years has been the application of the many lessons learned by David as he watched or came to the assistance of companies and senior executives who faltered or failed. Equally he learned from those who were highly successful and managed to have a great quality in their family or personal lives.
It was these same lessons, together with enormous research focused on how the best did it, that David developed into a series of business coaching modules that are at the heart of the methodology employed by the elite group of Summit business coaches. He found success (and failure) left clues. Another factor that makes Summit so successful is that the programs and the attitude of the company are based on David's experience in the Australian business arena and not those gathered by someone in the US or UK and franchised throughout the world.
Having been involved professionally and financially with a broad spectrum of companies from professional services to manufacturers and retailers to trade companies - David recognised a number of stereotypical critical success factors in small to medium businesses.
Virtually all businesses were owned or run by people with expertise in their field - architectural firms were run by architects for example. However, many had no real expertise in the basics of business such as planning & financial management, marketing or human resources management.
